Ben Sherwood joins the team as Chief Engineer
Ben will be responsible for leading the engineering team to develop the Dtorque, which provide further opportunities for Neander to expand its distributer network in the US market. He will also be refining company systems to support the development of a larger and more complex product range in the future.
Ben joins our team with 26 years’ experience in engineering, having previously worked for FIAT GM in Italy, Lotus Cars in Malaysia and the UK, as well as Ricardo, Jaguar Land Rover and Cox Powertrain, where he led the design and development of a new product from concept into volume production including a new manufacturing facility.
Ben Sherwood comments, “It’s great to join Neander and a fantastic opportunity to work with the German team in Kiel, I’m still a European at heart! The Neander technology is very interesting with the twin crankshaft design. This concept was proposed, developed and implemented by the famous English Polymath, Dr. Frederick Lanchester, and some of his very first engines were used to power a boat! I’m looking forward to using his concept to develop the next generation of Neander products.”
Joel Reid, Global Sales Director at Neander, comments, “We are very excited to welcome Ben to the team, he brings a wealth of experience and skills in complex product design and development and it is evident that he is hugely passionate about our product. Since taking over direct distribution, we continue to go from strength to strength, and with the appointment of Ben, we are sure we have found the right leader to help execute on our vision to be the global market leader for diesel outboard engines. I am confident he can bring his extensive knowledge and expertise to develop the next product range and implement processes to support further business expansion.”
